The Sydenham Society – has done so much to serve the local community by benefitting residents in so many ways.  On Wednesday, July 16th, at 2pm in our Church Centre, Pat Trembath, a vice-president of the society with which she has been involved for 25 years will be speaking about the society and its achievements.  This is a wonderful opportunity to hear about local issues – everyone is welcome, so do come along.

Parish Magazine – Do you have a flair for writing and editing?  Do you have some exciting ideas about the faith to share?  We are in need of two people to take on the editorship of the parish magazine as soon as possible with the view that the Harvest Edition will be ready for distribution in early September.  Support will be offered to get started.

PCC Sub Groups
There are a number of sub groups that were formed at the PCC meeting last week.  Besides the areas of worship, spiritual & pastoral care, and finance, there are some general categories which we would like members of the congregation to offer themselves to help for planning and promoting.  The categories and people to speak with are:

1/Taking care of our building and grounds
         Speak with Steve Jordan

2/ Children and Youth Ministry
         Speak with Judith Barber

3/Social Events and Activities
Speak with Annabel Davidson or Juliet Fallah

4/ Missions- World and Local
         Speak with Garth Davidson

Exciting Forthcoming Events….

Here Our Prayer – Help from the Congregation will be needed for our part of this initiative of Churches Together in Sydenham and Forest Hill. The event will be taking place over the weekend of September 12-14.  On the Saturday Holy Trinity will be offering prayer for people along Dartmouth Road and the London Road with perhaps a prayer station set up at these crossroads.  We will also have the church open for hospitality and lay out a Prayer Labyrinth in the main hall of the Church Centre.  Please speak with Mark Taylor, Valerie Shirley or Steve, the Vicar.

Please do take note of the various posters on the lobby notice boards of events, concerts, activities, and other information about happenings in and around the parish.
